General information only
WorkHoursGuide calculators, examples, and guides are provided for general informational and educational purposes. They are intended to make common time and work-related arithmetic easier to understand.
Calculator accuracy
We aim to provide useful and understandable calculations, but no calculator can account for every policy, contract, law, payroll system, time-zone condition, or individual circumstance. Results should be independently verified when accuracy is important.
Overtime and wage calculations
Any overtime threshold, multiplier, hourly rate, premium, or pay category shown by a calculator is based on user input or an illustrative default. A displayed calculation does not determine whether overtime is legally owed, how hours must be classified, or which wage rule applies.
PTO and leave calculations
PTO calculators model accrual rules entered by the user. They do not determine legal entitlement to vacation, sick leave, carryover, payout, caps, or other leave benefits.
Break calculations
Break and lunch calculators measure time. They do not determine whether a break must be provided, when it must occur, whether it must be paid, or whether a specific policy complies with applicable law.
Business days and holidays
Business-day calculations use the weekdays and holiday dates supplied by the user. WorkHoursGuide does not guarantee that a custom holiday list is complete for a particular country, state, province, municipality, company, bank, court, or other institution.
Daylight-saving time and time zones
Some time-only calculators do not include a calendar date or time-zone context and therefore cannot automatically account for daylight-saving clock changes. Where exact elapsed time across a clock-change transition matters, use dated records and verify the result.
Gross pay vs. take-home pay
Pay calculators generally display gross estimates before taxes, withholding, deductions, benefits, reimbursements, garnishments, or other payroll adjustments unless a page explicitly states otherwise.
No employer or government relationship
WorkHoursGuide is not your employer, payroll provider, union, government agency, accountant, lawyer, or tax authority. A calculator result is not an official time record, pay statement, legal determination, or government ruling.
